What is Digital Marketing?
As a consumer in this tech advanced era, I expect to have information on products whenever and wherever I want it, and I believe I am not speaking for myself when I say this. It has been shown that e-commerce sales in the US has increased by 12.6 % in 2010 which is a total of almost $176 billion, and is expected to grow to $279 billion by 2015, according to theamericangenius.com. This statistic marks the increasing demand for the Digital Marketing field. Digital Marketing is the practice of promoting products/services using different digital channels to reach consumers in a timely, relevant, personal, and cost-effective manner. So what does that actually mean?
Digital Marketers are responsible for:
-Social Media Management: Using social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Etc. to promote their company's products or services.
-Search engine optimization: Optimizing a website in order to rank higher (be more easily found) on search engines.
-Content Marketing: Creating and distributing relevant material via their landing pages in order to attract certain segments to try to generate profit.
